Meeting New People

home-concert

The number of my posts is reduced lately, although my mind is jumping from one though/topic to another like a drunken monkey.  I felt that I want to share a lot, but at the same time, I was concerned that I not provide enough valuable information.  Finally, I decide to write what I feel.  I share my thought, emotions, and steps we taking toward our goals.  I share the article and books we are reading, how we plan, what is important for us, and how we are dealing with people’s reaction during the last year or so. After all, I don’t need to pretend or act that I am the encyclopedia or retirement guru.

Last Saturday we attended a home concert where we enjoyed the music of the talented guitarist, poet and the songwriter.  The gourmet food and delicious wine, charming conversation with the talented musicians and artists, fashion designer, and other new people made this evening very enjoyable.  Then another gift – the concert after the concert. Our special thanks to the hosts of this home concert.

I was surprised to see how many people support our decision to take off and explore the world.  Some of them still have the small children or old parents, and cannot follow our steps for now. Surprisingly, our plans received the overwhelming support and encouragement, and we greatly appreciate this while some of our old friends still feel that we are making a big mistake and ask us to cancel our plans.

All that reminds me the quote from the Paul Terhorst who has published the book Cashing in on the American Dream. Per Paul, if your friends do not understand or do not support you, then change your friends.   The world is abundant with good people and we are looking forward to meet them during our travel.

IT will be another home concert in January at the same place – so looking forward to attend!
