Vietnam, Hoi An
We are celebrated Tet (Vietnamese New Year) in Hoi An. Hoi An Ancient Town is one of the eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Vietnam.
We love this little town. It has everything we need – comfortable living, plenty of vegetarian and vegan restaurants, art galleries, trendy and not so trendy (local) coffee shops, fresh fruits, affordable prices and the most important, very friendly locals. Hoi An also has a nice beach nearby.
We used Hoi An as a base for a few local trips – to Hue and My Son, both are also UNESCO Heritage Sites. We visited three famous sites in Hue: Emperor’s Tomb (Khai Dinh tomb), Imperial City, and Thien Mu Pagoda.
Here are some photos from the trip to Hue.

The trip to My Son Sanctuary was unforgettable. “Between the 4th and 13th centuries a unique culture which owed its spiritual origins to Indian Hinduism developed on the coast of contemporary Viet Nam. This is graphically illustrated by the remains of a series of impressive tower-temples located in a dramatic site that was the religious and political capital of the Champa Kingdom for most of its existence.”
