Sicilian Carousel
After one month in the Lakes Region and Milan, we landed in Palermo and headed towards our first destination, a small beach town – San Vito Lo Capo.
The landscapes and people are so different here! Stopped a few times to admire panoramic views and gelato, and finally, settled in our rental – a nice 2bd townhouse, just a few blocks from the beach in a typical Sicilian neighborhood.
Here we reunited with our friends from New Jersey, enjoyed the typical activities – visited beaches (new beach every day), rented a boat, and enjoyed the local food, vine and sweets.
Then we are back to Palermo, where we met the other friends from the USA. They own the company, The Global Travel Authors, and we are happy to be part of their tour, named “Sicilian Carousel”. You can read about our trip on their website.
Parermo:
Celafu
and then Taormina.
Taormina – this little town became a home for the intellectual elite: Oscar Wilde, Greta Garbo, Pablo Picasso, Tennessee Williams, Henry Faulkner, Elizabeth Taylor – just a few names of famous people who touched these narrow streets.
We stayed at the Casa Cuseni. So many wonderful reviews already have been written and so many will be…We are still overwhelmed with our stay at the villa-museum…
Here are a view of Taormina from the terrace of Casa Cuseni
