Singapore

We just returned from the short trip to Singapore. We had to do a “visa run” (exit the country and re-enter it) to obtain another 90 days Malaysian visa.

Singapore! What a beautiful city! Wonderful people! Green, clean, beautiful parks, architecture, free concerts, etc.

Love it! Love it! Love it!

Visited zoo, had a breakfast with Orangutans, visited Annie Libovitz photo expo (amazing!), did touristy stuff (hop-on/hop-off, Singapore Fryer), walked around the harbor, visited botanical gardens, eat amazing food, enjoyed every step and every moment.  And the shopping malls – paradise!

Our Sri Lanka’s friend introduced us to his friends from Singapore; we met and went out for dinner. We walked around their neighborhood, spend time among the locals, saw Australian winery owner, who offered a free wine tasting to the strangers. So we tasted the wine (Princeton-like experience during the Jazz festivals), then eat, talked, walked, and did people watching…

Even the S$13 (~$10 US) French fries can’t spoil the great impression of the city. (Singapore was named the most expensive city in the world…) The glass of great wine ~ $14 (not so bad).

Can’t blame Eduardo Saverin, the co-founder of Facebook. It is “more practical to become a resident of Singapore since he plans to live there for an indefinite period of time”… If I would have his money, I would live there too.
